ANZAC Day ... Poppies

I have been busy after work each evening this week making a large poppy for the front of the Woodside Lutheran Church and 24 poppies for the ends of the pews to commemorate ANZAC Day which happens to fall on a Sunday this year.

I was really pleased with how they all turned out especially the large one which I made the petals out of a pieces of A5 and A6 Poppy Parade cardstock with lots of curling of the cardstock with my bone folder and then a lot of Multipurpose Liquid Glue to hold them in place.  (Please see my very rough sketch of how I cut out the petals.)

I made 8 large petals and 8 small petals and glued them onto a large circle of Poppy Parade cardstock and then added a smaller black circle with a double strip of fringed black cardstock to make it look like the stamens on the flower.

For the smaller poppies I used the 2" circle punch and then punch out 8 hearts and then curled them with the bone folder and glued them onto the circle and then added the small black circle for the centre.

Happy Easter

Are you enjoying the Easter Long Weekend?  I have had a lovely time catching up with family for lunch on Sunday, and I did make some Easter gift tags and boxes for family, friends and my work colleagues.

I have also spent time in my garden, tidying up the roses, as they were well overdue to be deadheaded and a few weeds had appeared in the side garden too!

Saturday, I visited Bunnings and purchased some plants and pots.  Today, I planted some herbs in the courtyard garden bed and I now have a display under the pergola with a couple extra hanging pots and I finally potted the plant Melissa gave me a few weeks ago into a beautiful big grey pot which matches in nicely.

Art with Heart Colour Creations Showcase - Rococo Rose

It's the end of March and I have finally created a card for Art with Heart Colour Creations, featuring one of the retiring 2019-2021 In Color, Rococo Rose.

I have had the pleasure of crafting with fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrators, Rachel Palmieri, Andrea Sargent and Tina Gillespie this last week at my home and they have inspired me to create.

I have used the Hey Girlfriend stamp set, which I stamped onto the Basic White cardstock and coloured with Blends and stamped on Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper for the cute dress.

Stamp Set:  Hey Girlfriend
Cardstock:  Rococo Rose, Basic White, Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper
Ink:  Rococo Rose, Memento, Crumb Cake, Flirty Flamingo and Petal Pink Blends
Accessories: White twine

Social Stamping - #InColors

Social Stamping this month is featuring In Colors, so I have decided to use all of 2019-2021 In Colors that are retiring.

You may have started here, so welcome or you may have come from Elizabeth Gross.

I have used up strips of cardstock that I have in a plastic sleeve of each of the In Colors - Purple Posy, Rococo Rose, Seaside Spray, Terracotta Tile, Pretty Peacock.

I place them all lined together with a little adhesive on grid paper in the Stamparatus and used the NEW Butterfly Brilliance stamp set in Crumb Cake.

I then layered them onto a piece of Thick Basic White cardstock, with a tiny gap between each and adhered them with some dimensional.  I then added the sentiment and a die cut butterfly from the now sold out Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper.  Finally I added some Clear Elegant Faceted Gems to the head of each of the butterflies.

Stamp Set:  Butterfly Brilliance
Cardstock:  Thick Basic White, Basic White, Purple Posy, Rococo Rose, Seaside Spray, Terracotta Tile, Pretty Peacock, Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper
Ink:  Crumb Cake
Accessories:  Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Hippo & Friends Dies, Clear Elegant Faceted Gems
