CASEing the Catty - #CTC328 Case Sketch Sale-A-Bration Penguin Playmates

Wow, what a week it has been in my life!!!

South Australia went into 7 days lockdown, as an essential worker in a general practice it was even busier than normal with COVID Testing Clinics in the car park and COVID Vaccine Clinics within the practice plus the general consultation and of course telehealth so patients did not have to leave home.

It was a pleasure to craft to relax and put some balance back in my life, so welcome to the blog hop or you may have come from Monique Fielder.

This week we are using the card sketch featured to the right which is from the Annual Catalogue on page 33.

I have decided to give you a little sneak peak of the oh cute Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper which you will be able to get for free during the Sale-A-Bration promotion that starts in August.

I had an idea to use the Peaceful Place Speciality Designer Series Paper from the upcoming Mini Catalogue as my background as the snowflakes falling onto the trees would make the feature of the card just pop.  I then fussy cut the penguin on the slay pulled by the polar bear and then added in the snowman.  Inside of a sentiment I decided to add some of the Metallic Mesh Ribbon to make it look like they are sliding along some snow.

That's another Christmas Card made in July, thanks for stopping by and I would love to see what you can create with this sketch challenge.

Cardstock:  Fresh Fressia, Basic White, Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper, Peaceful Place Speciality Designer Series Paper
Accessories:  Metallic 1 1/2" Mesh Ribbon

Now it's time to hop on over to Tina Gillespie, who also lives in South Australia so would have had a challenging week at home with her children being home schooled during this time.

CASEing the Catty - #CTC327 Snowflake Wishes and So Many Snowflakes Dies

Wow, today we are celebrating our 7th Anniversary of blog hops at CASEing the Catty.

I can not believe it's been this long, time just flies by when you are having fun creating.  Bronwyn Eastley invited me onto the Crew when it was launched but I declined as it was a weekly commitment in the beginning, but at the Stampin' Up! Gold Coast Convention she convinced me to join as I could participate when I can.  I love CASEing the Catalogues they give you so many options and inspiration.  I need to have a look back at my first post and see when my first post was.

You may be starting here so welcome to the hop or you may have come from Peta Stephen

This week we are featuring the Holiday Section of the Annual Catalogue - pages 88 to 95 which coincided with my Christmas in July card class which I hosted yesterday and we made this shaker card featured on page 90.

I decided to make mine in shades of blue - Balmy Blue, Pacific Point and tiny bit of Pool Party.

I love the snowflakes in this set as they layer well together to give depth and dimension in the corners of the card on top of a little snowflake stamping.

I then added some snowflakes and sequins to the shaker (unfortunately the current sequins did not match my colour theme so I had to use some from my discontinued stash) and then finally added the Gray Granite ribbon and fussy cut sentiment in the centre and added the cute gems.

Stamp Set:  Snowflake Wishes
Cardstock:  Balmy Blue, Pacific Point, Pool Party, Basic White
Ink:  Balmy Blue, Pacific Point
Accessories:  Cut n' Emboss Machine, So Many Snowflakes Dies, Window Sheets, Blue Adhesive Backed Gems, Gray Granite 1/4" Shimmer Ribbon, Fancy Frost Sequins (retired), Sprinkles Embellishments (retired), Snowflake Sequins (retired)

Thanks for stopping by this week, now it's time to hop on over to Lauren Meiklejohn.

CASEing the Catty - #CTC325 Tidings & Trimmings Bundle

This week at CASEing the Catty we are featuring CASEing a Die Bundle from the Annual Catalogue, pages 156 to 161.

You may be starting here so welcome or you may have come from Julia Quinn.

I am again doing a Christmas Card to add to my Christmas in July examples.  I have chosen to case the Christmas Trimmings Dies featured on page 161, which is featured below.

I have used the layout as a template and chosen Cherry Cobbler and Basic White as my dominate colours with a little green and gold as my inspiration.

Instead of stamping the background I have featured the Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper and then made the star the centrepiece of the card with some beautiful gold holy leaves and ribbon and trim.  I finished it with the sentiment from the matching stamp set, Tidings & Trimmings to the right of the star in a banner and they used a sprinkling of gems.

Stamp Set:  Tidings & Trimmings
Ink:  Cherry Cobbler
Cardstock:  Cherry Cobbler, Basic White, Gold Foil, Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper
Accessories:  Cut n Emboss Machine, Christmas Trimmings Dies, Genial Gems, Gold Simply Elegant Trim, Just Jade & Gold 3/8" Braided Ribbon

Thanks for stopping by now it's time to hop on over to Judy May.
