Happy New Year - Cheers to You

It is the first time I have put ink to a stamp set in such a long time especially since it was not a Christmas card, well today I was inspired by the Case Study Challenge #20 since it was bright and summery.

I thought I could incorporate the challenge into a New Years greeting from me to you my blog viewers. A big thank you to you all and especially to those that have left a comment during the last twelve months, it great to hear from you and that someone is enjoying what I am creating and sharing. Back to the card, it uses a new stamp set that I have recently purchased and it is so fitting for today, so here is cheers for 2011!

Cardstock: Pink Passion, Pixie Pink, Whisper White, Candy Lane Designer Series Paper

Kris Kringle

Two posts in two days - I must be on holidays!

I am part of group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators who decided to organise a Kris Kingle and I am sharing with you today the goodies I received, my KK was oh so very generous and what about all that handcrafted packaging with the lovely chocolates and Christmas decoration and what about all those Stampin' Up! products - music notes wheel, ribbon, mini vintage tags, vintage trinkets and crochet trim. I just love it as quite a few of those accessories are from the Summer Mini Catalogue and I was so excited when I saw it at the front door. My postman is very loved at my house as he delivers all my happy mail and I forget about those window envelopes that have the bills.

December Frenzy Update

December Frenzy has created quite a frenzy! In fact, Stampin' Up! are quickly depleting the supply of several Stampin' Write Markers that are part of this promotion. Therefore, to prevent backorders, the following markers will return to their normal pricing on 13 December:

After 11:50 PM (AEDT) on 12 December, these markers will no longer be available at their discounted prices.

Case Study Challenge #17 - Vintage Card

I was inspired by the Case Study Challenge this week as it was a vintage creation by Nina Brackett and as I have a totally different style of cards to this theme, I would give it a go.

I had to look for some lace which was hidden in one of my boxes from years ago and then tried out a new background stamp set that I inked up for the first time, En Francias with a little flourish from my all time favourite Baroque Motifs with the sentiment coming from Contempo Christmas. I punched out three of the ornaments and stamped on both sides to create a three dimensional Christmas decoration with lots of sponging on the edges with the sponge daubers.

With constructing a vintage card, it is laying and laying of textured materials and I think I achieved it and with all the edges of cardstock sponged to give futher depth.

Stamp Set: En Francias, Baroque Motifs, Contempo Christmas
Card: Always Artichoke, Soft Suede, Cake Crumb
Ink: Always Artichoke, Soft Suede
Accessories: Cream Lace, Ornament Punch, Sponge Daubers, Hemp Twine, Wine Narrow Organdy Ribbon

Tree Trimmings and Cottage Garden

I am sharing a couple of cards today that my guests made at Kathryn's Card Afternoon in October for the Cancer Council's Girl's Night In events. These two cards use exactly the same cardstock with just a different colour ribbon but have a different stamp set. It just shows just how versatile Stampin' Up! products are with just a different stamp set a total different theme can be completed very easily. The first card uses Tree Trimmings ($24.95 wood) to make a very simple Christmas Card and the second one uses Cottage Garden ($32.95 wood, $$24.95 clear) for someone special perhaps as a thank you card or thinking of you situation.

Stamp Set: Tree Trimmings, Short and Sweet or Cottage Garden
Card: Not Quite Navy, Old Olive, Very Vanilla, Designer Series Paper
Ink: Not Quite Navy, Old Old
Accessories: Old Olive or Bravo Burgundy 5/8" Grossgrain Ribbon, Oval Punch

We Stamp for Lara & Just Add Ink Challenges

I have had a lovely long weekend being at home and spending some quality time stamping when I probably should have been doing the housework but the iron did get some use this morning but as the basket was overflowing no-one would be able to tell but at least I know.
I have just returned from getting my car serviced and then I took my dad for a drive to Goolwa where we had lunch and then came home via the Ballast Stone Estate winery as we needed to stock up for Christmas celebrations! Today I am going to share with you a couple of cards which I made yesterday, the first was for the We Stamp for Lara Sketch Challenge and the second which is just a little modification to the first for the Just Add Ink Just Add Christmas JAI43.
My box of Christmas cards is getting full but still along way to go, but then I remembered that I have about 20 from the retired Christmas Scrapbooking kit which are on loan for ideas for a couple of my stamping ladies so I probably have completed about 40 now!
Stamp Set: Christ is Born, Season of Joy (first card uses the Occasional Quotes)
Card: Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla, Old Olive Designer Series Paper
Ink: Riding Hood Red, Versamark
Ribbon: Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon

Christmas Cards

Sorry I have not posted on my blog for such a long time, but work has been so busy of late but I have been creating 25 Christmas cards for a friends school fundraising which I will share with you now. Most of the cardstock and designer series papers are from my retired collection of Stampin' Up products but the stamp sets are available in the current catalogue. I must acknowledge a couple of fellow demonstrators that I got inspiration for three of the cards from Nicole Derendorf, Danielle Daws and Teneale Williams.

This card uses the Case Study Challenge #14, if you have not checked out this blog before it has great ideas.

Kathryn's Card Afternoon - A Big Thank You

Sorry it has taken me a week to post a round up of Kathryn's Card Afternoon for the Cancer Council's Girls Night In events. Last Saturday afternoon I was joined by 19 lovely ladies for an afternoon of fun and enjoyment, guest enjoyed a glass of champagne on arrival served with some dips and crackers (kindly donated by Ballast Stone Estate Wines and Bayleys of Strathalbyn) and then it was down to creating four handcrafted cards (which I will post in a later blog post). To date I have raised $949 which is just a fantastic effort and I thank everyone who has made this possible.

There were four work areas with a choice of two designs using the same cardstock and resources but using a different stamp set.

We had a silent auction with so many fantastic goodies donated by Stampin' Up! and we also had a raffle and door prizes.

Many thanks to all my stamping friends for the fantastic selection of handcraft cards that were available for sale, I do have quite a few left and will be still selling them in the coming weeks so the grand total will still be on the rise!
