Making a Difference

I was very humbled to be the first Stampin' Up! Demonstrator to be featured in the Making a Difference section in the redesigned "Weekly Success" a newsletter distributed to all demonstrators on 3 November 2020.

Giving Back through Service
Kathryn Mangelsdorf is no stranger to charitable deeds. For many years, she has generously donated her time and organised philanthropic fundraiser events to help those in need. So it was no surprise that when wildfires ravished her local area, Kathryn immediately volunteered through her church to bake for the victims.

Kathryn has helped make hundreds of apple crumbles, potato bakes, and biscuits to be distributed to fire-affected families. For this who have lost their homes, livelihoods, or farms, the food was a treat-but it was so much more than that.

"It was a small deed to boost their morale," said Kathryn, "and I suspect that the chat the deliverer had with them really did more for them than the food. Early on we realised it was going to be a long-term exercise," she continued, "and then when COVID hit, we knew that having a reason to touch base was even more important."

"Giving back has always been part of my family's values," concluded Kathryn. "I get a warm and fuzzy feeling from it. I've been blessed to have a loving family, friends, and a roof over my head, so if I can do something for someone who may be in that situation then it's good for both of us."
We loved hearing your inspiring story, Kathryn. You make us proud! Thanks for all you do.
