Well it's time to celebrate Christmas in July with some quick and easy cards ready for the big rush in December.  I have just used the many designs from the Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Paper and a strip of Old Olive cardstock with the sentiment from which I stamped on Whisper White and used the Everyday Label Punch to cut it out and layered it in Old Olive.

Colour INKspiration Springtime Impressions Thinlits - #CI38

I have not had a lot of free time to create for the Colour INKspiration Crew for a long time but I could not miss this one as I just love this colour combination of Powder Pink, Grey Granite, Berry Burst, Whisper White and Basic Black.

I have made a sympathy card for a friend who sadly loss her husband way too early from dementia, and I thought straight away of a butterfly as his memories will be with her forever.

I have used the gorgeous Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon to mount the layered butterfly in the pinks and grey with a sprinkle of Black Metallic Thread to make it stand out even more.

It will not take away her tear and hurt but it will given her a smile that he will be around her always.

CASEing the Catty Mistletoe Season - #CTC188

I am preparing for my Christmas in July class on Saturday so I thought it was timely that the CASEing the Catty Crew were featuring the Holidays section of the Annual Catologue (page 92 to 103).

I was inspired by the card to the left which uses the Season Wreath Dynamic Embossing Folder, I love the depth that these folders give.  I have used VersaMark to ink up the embossing folder and then put it through the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine and then I sprinkled some Stampin' Emboss Powder on the wreath, you will need to remove some extra powder but with a little paint brush and some patiences you get an amazing effect.  I have used both sides of the Embossing Folder as I could not decide which one I preferred.  I then used some of the matching DSP and then add lots of the beautiful and sparkling Red Rhinestones.

The Gallery Grunge stamp set if all of unique texture.  The designer of this set of background stamps found inspiration at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Boston when she notice a herringbone pattern on the walls.

These versatile patterns can be used in two completely different ways.  Beyond just background stamping, they can be used to create layers of texture in any piece.  In the thank you card sample, Stampin' Up! used all three of the stamps in different colours to create an elegant yet edgy aesthetic.  In the butterfly sample, the polka dot stamp was used on both the butterfly and the background to create a delicate symmetry.

They arrived too late for team day last Sunday but the big brown box arrived on Monday, but it's only today that I have had time to pull them out and look at the beautiful colour shades.

CASEing the Catty Happy Birthday Thinlits - #CTC186

Today, I hosted my Stampin' Up! Team Day and I decided to introduce them to this week's CASEing the Catty challenge, the birthday section of the Annual Catalogue (pages 66 to 79).

I decide to again this week combine the background of the card to the left with the striking Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry combination with the Happy Birthday Thinlits from the below image.  This thinlit  was opened for the first time today and the flowers and leaves are from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set which I have fussy cut out.  I must be one of the odd people as I don't mind lots of fussing cutting.  I have also added a Pearlised Doily and a couple of vellum leave which just make it pop a little more
