UStamp Christmas Block / Box

I started on my Christmas cards today, I will take a photo soon to show you a few, I think there might be about 10 completed which is a start.

I also completed a UStamp project which were blocks that spelt out MERRY but as Australia does not have the dies, the very kind Anett sent me a template which I could use. I have made it a box as it would be more useful for me and I ended up only making one as it was alot small than I thought it would be.

Stamp Set: Winter Post, Season of Joy, Sincere Salutations
Ink: Bravo Burgundy, Bayou Blue
Card: Kraft, Very Vanilla
Accessories: 5/8" Bravo Burgundy Grosgrain Ribbon

UStamp Mini Album

Finally I have had some time to stamp, late this afternoon I completed my first Ustamp project I am a little behind as it started last Friday and there is one project posted each day. I have been busy with the Cancer Council Girls Afternoon and then on Tuesday I made four Christmas cards (but I can not show you these as someone might be watching) for a card evening for the girls at my church in late November but I had to plan what we are making so I could order the cardstock before I go away to Queensland in just over two week's time. I have the next four days off so hopefully I will get a few more completed.

Kathryn's Girls Afternoon

Finally I have time to write up on Kathryn's Girls Afternoon on Saturday. It was so much fun, and everyone loved the five cards and one project (a cover for a Lindt block of chocolate which was in there goodie bag). Below are photos of the afternoon together with the cards we created.

The girls have been showing their cards to others so looks like it will be an annual event for the Cancer Council. I have raised over $700 so far with some more cards to sell to friends and work colleagues.

A big thank you must go to all my supporters - Stampin' Up, Claire Daly, Mary-Jane Rousell, Debbie Keane, Anett Schallock, Lynn Powell and my good friend Lynette Irvine who organised guests and helped with afternoon tea.

Article in The Courier my Local Paper

As you might be aware, I am hosting Kathryn's Girls Afternoon on Saturday to raise funds for women's cancers. Last week I was contacted by the Cancer Council of South Australia wanting to know if I would consider talking with my local newspaper, The Courier at Mount Barker about my Girls Night In event and the reasons why I was having the event. I hope you can read the article as it does explain that my mother and sister have been diagnosed with breast cancer with my sister passing away after a two year battle with the terrible disease. They took lots of photos so I was a little disappointed that I am not smiling in the one they went with.

Kathryn's Girls Afternoon - Getting Organised for Saturday

I have been busy this weekend getting ready for Saturday's Cancer Council Kathryn's Girls Afternoon, wow I did not know how long it takes to cut up all the cardstock. I have designed five cards and one project for my guests to complete, I hope they like them as I think they are some of my best work - they are not very difficult as most of my guests are not cardmarkers of distinction.

I also wanted to share with you some more cards I received from my stamping friends the first selection are from Mary-Jane Roussel all the way from France, and look at the beautiful elephant she has created in pink - I will hang "pinky" on my front door to welcome everyone and the second selection are from the lovely Lynn Powell from Western Australia (sorry Lynn I don't know if you have a blog). I am so overwhelmed by the generosity of my "online" friends which are supporting my event and women's cancers.

It's the Labour Day Long Weekend here in South Australia, so I have had some time to create this time with Keesha's Challenge. I have lost my inspiration at the moment as I am not really happy with this one but I thought I'd post it just to say I have been stamping.

Stamp Set: Upsy Daisy, Baroque Motifs, Wanted
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red
Card: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Riding Hood Red 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon

Kathryn's Girls Afternoon - Thank You to Claire Daly

Look what I received from the very generous and talented Stampin' Up Demonstrator, Claire Daly last week. I have been busy finishing off packaging up all the cards in plastic bags and some were just card fronts so they are all now beautiful cards ready to sell at Kathryn's Girls Afternoon for the Council Council. She also sent me some Stampin' Up goodies to put the cards together on the day, what a wonderful friend I have made via stamping.
If you can not attend my event and wish to make a tax deductible donation, the money raised will support women's cancers.
