Art with Heart Blog Hop - Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue

Welcome to the Art With Heart Team Blog Hop! Who are the Art with Heart team? The team is lead by Claire Daly and there are over 90 demonstrators across Australia ... if you want to become part of this great team just email me for more details. We have a great team forum, Business Building Club and heaps of support from like minded demonstrators. This Blog Hop is monthly event happening on the last day of every month. You may have just come from Christine's Blain's blog, but if you are starting here, don’t worry … you can make the complete journey just by following the links at the end of each post. There are 13 stops along the way and we hope you will visit each one to see the wonderful creations we have to show you! If you leave a comment on each and every blog and then email Nikki at nikki@inkyart.com.au, your name will be put into the hat to win some beautiful blog candy which I have donated this time round which includes one of the Sale-A-Bration stamp set, Good Neighbours with some oval, leaves and top note die cuts in the new In Colours. There is a deadline of 6.00 am AEST on 3 April 2010 to leave your comments and only non Stampin' Up! demostrators are eligible to win the candy - although we'd love all visitors to leave some comments please.

So for this tour we decided upon the theme of the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue which is released on 1 April and runs until 31 August. At the end of each post there will be a link to take you to the next stop on the tour. So grab a cuppa, and set off on what we are hoping will be an inspirational journey! I hope you enjoy my creation which includes my favourite stamp set from the mini Vintage Vogue with the new incolours - look at these beautiful bright new In Colours, Melon Mambo, Soft Suede and Rich Razzleberry and what about the excitment of finally having the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine in Australia. We now also have the choice of the traditional wood-mount stamps or the new clear-mount rubber stamp with the various size clear blocks.

It's been a little while since I have posted anything on my blog as I have been busy preparing some new designs for a stamp-a-stack this weekend and also some swap card fronts for my Stampin' Up! Team which features the new Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue (sorry no sneek peaks until closer to the release date).

Today, I would like to share with you a card I made for my church's Girl Group on Friday evening. I had to be a little creative as I do not own any Easter stamp sets (don't tell anyone).

Easter Birdhouse

I saw this birdhouse a few months ago on Angie Kennedy Juda's Chic' n Scratch blog and I thought if I made the larger milk carton that it would be wonderful to fill with Easter Eggs and give as a presents to my work colleagues, so when the very generous Sue Denning at Swap Sisters sent me the bird and leaves, I started creating...I have made two to date but have a few more to complete.

Ink: Old Olive, Regal Rose
Card: Close to Cocoa, Old Olive, Regal Rose
Accessories: Plastic Sheet, Crimper, Extra Large Two Step Bird Punch (coming in the autumn mini catalogue)

Swap Sisters Challenge #6

It's been raining today here in the Adelaide Hills which is fantastic for the farmers but not so great for the grape harvest but I am loving it for my garden and it feels like winter is on the way. It's a public holiday for Adelaide Cup today, I have no interest in this horse race but don't we love public holidays, it gave me the chance to have a latte with scones, jam and cream with a friend, Lynette at the Woodside Providore this afternoon.

Well, back to my card it's my creation for Swap Sisters Sketch Challenge, I think the sketch was designed more for a scrapbook page but I was really happy with the way my card came out.

Ink: Soft Sky, Blue Bayou
Card: Soft Sky Textured, Blue Bayou Textured, Whisper White

Mojo Monday #128

As it's the Adelaide Cup long weekend, I am getting a few challenges completed - ha for stamping! This is my second Mojo Monday in a row, that's a record for me and here is my take on this weeks sketch challenge. I have decided to use up some of my scraps of designer series papers and cardstock so you may see some retired products used in the coming weeks as my pile was getting a little high, however the stamp sets will be current as I have sold most of my old stamps before becoming an independent demonstrator so I could afford new ones. Enjoy your weekend (and in Adelaide your long weekend on Monday, I hope to be back with some more creations in the next couple of days).

Stamp Set: Petal Pizzazz
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze, Purely Pomegranate
Card: Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Purely Pomegranate, Designer Series Paper (retired)
Accessories: Silver Brad, Silver Flower Brad

Caardvarks Photo Inspiration Challenge

It's a bit overcast in Woodside today so I decide to not do the washing this morning and instead I would make a card, this time inspired by the Caardvarks Photo Inspiration, when I saw it I knew I needed to use the bird in the cage from the Sale-A-Bration set, Happy Moments, which is definitely my favourite of the four stamp sets. I am awaiting my next order to receive my fourth one, Good Neighbour which I though was going to be a challenge to use but I have seen such great designs on other blogs that I can not wait to try it out. Don't forget you have only until the end of March to get these FREE sets by just spending $100 on Stampin' Up! products which includes purchases from the Summer Mini Catalogue. After all the inspiration, I am not really happy with my card but it does look better in real life as the paper piercing does not really show up in the photo.

Stamp Set: Happy Moments
Ink: Certainly Celery, River Rock
Card: Textured River Rock, Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Certainly Celery Designer Series Paper
Accessories: River Rock Double Stitched Ribbon,1 3/4" Circle Punch, Paper Piercing Tool
