Helping Hudson - Challenge 8 Technique

Helping Hudson - Challenge 7 Sketch

After stopping by at the local market and voting this morning in Australia's Federal election, I got down to the serious business of stamping (not who is going to rule Australia)!!! I just had to finish the Helping Hudson Challenges this one being a sketch challenge. I did stray a little off the design by just put the ribbon under the box so hopefully it still meets the requirements.

Enjoy this sneak peak of a single stamp and matching punch.

Nursery Necessities...not just for new borns!

I have been going throught my stamp sets to see which ones are going to be retired at the end of the month so I can use them before they go to the back before I sell them off...today I pulled out Nursery Necessities ($56.95 - very limited stock available for this one so order asap otherwise you maybe disappointed) which is fantastic for new borns or small children but today I cased the one in the New Ideas and Catalogue which I changed the colours a little to make a masculine card.

Stamp Set: Nursery Necessities
Card: Ballet Blue, Kiwi Kiss textured, Close to Cocoa (all retiring too), Whisper White
Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip

Heavy Rains in the Adelaide Hills

I had a lovely brunch with a friend at Kelsey's Cottage at Oakbank this morning and whilst coming home I took a couple of photos of the Onkaparinga River in full flow (well not quiet as it has not rained for a good 12 hours). The last couple of days we have had lots of rain here in the Adelaide Hills which is great for filling up the reservoirs.

It would have been nice to take some photos 24 hours before as the river would have been at least 1 metre over the little ford on Walters Road as there were leaves and sticks right back where I parked my car.

Big Bold Birthday

Wow is it wet and windy here in Woodside, South Australia and it looks like the Southern Eastern states are sharing this winter weather too. It was a day for indoor creating and some housework, well a few cards were created and a couple loads of washing were completed but not much else!

As it was gloomy outside I decided I would use some bright colours on this card, together with one of the retiring stamps sets, Big Bold Birthday ($53.95) which I received as part of my Stampin' Up! Start Up Kit when joining as a demonstrator back in November.

Stamp Set: Big Bold Birthday
Card: Pixie Pink, Brocade Blue, Whisper White
Ink: Bashful Blue, Pink Pirouette, Pixie Pink
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Brocade Blue 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon

Wanted

Well today I finished work early and I thought I would should show you what I achieved, it's a little different style that I usually do - don't know what you call it, but I did get some inspiration from a card that I saved on my computer such a long time ago. Sorry that I can not give any recognition as I have no idea who's it was but I did use a different stamp set, colours etc so it really does not look much like it but I always like to give recognition as I would love anyone to give me any credit for inspiring them!

I hope this gives you the inspiration to get out a stamp set that you would not normally use and give it a go, just like I did, this stamp set I think has only been used a few times and now it's in the last chance list...so don't miss out it's $43.95 and is only available until stock lasts or until 31 August.

Stamp Set: Wanted
Cardstock: Going Grey, Really Rust, Close to Cocoa, Very Vanilla
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede
Accessories: Paper-Piercing Tool, Mat Pack, Pewter Brads, Sponge Daubers

Clean & Simple 102

I am a huge fan of the Clean and Simple Challenges as they are so effective with lots of clear space, which sometimes I struggle to produce. As my kitchen table was full of stamping cardstock, inks, accessories etc from creating yesterday I decide to continue stamping today (the ironing will have to wait until tonight).

I used one of my favourite stamp sets, Wild about You and unfortunately it has been included in the last chance list so don't miss out - only $45.95 and remember they are only available until stock lasts, also the lovely Orchid Opulence and Pale Plum are colours retiring too so don't forget to stock up on cardstock (A4 - $10.50, all cardstock will go up in the upcoming catalogue), stampin' pads ($11.95) and ink refill ($5.95).

Stamp Set: Wild about You
Card: Pale Plum, Orchid Opulence, Very Vanilla

Helping Hudson - Week 1, Technique Challenge

Well finally here is the last one, the Technique Challenge which was the Rock 'n' Roll.

To do this technique you need two ink pads, you ink up a stamp with the pale colour first and then with the darker shade roll the ink pad on the edges of the stamp and then stamp onto your cardstock. (I used Pretty in Pink and Cameo Coral).

Stamp Set: Fresh Cuts
Card: Cameo Coral, Whisper White
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Cameo Coral
Accessories: Pink Rhinestone Brad, Fresh-Cut Notes

Helping Hudson - Week 1, Colour Challenge

Here is the Colour Challenge, this card was a little difficult for me as I did not now how to include the Not Quite Navy, I did use Whisper White in the card as well as with most colour challenge you can use a neutral colour.

Stamp Set: Happy Moments, Fresh Cuts
Card: Not Quite Navy, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Ink: Rose Red
Accessories: 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Rose Red 1" Stitched Grossgrain Ribbon, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Pefect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folders

Helping Hudson - Week 1, Sketch Challenge

As it is my last day of annual leave and I had a little "free" time as I forgot that the housework still need to be done but I wanted to participate in the Helping Hudson Week 1 Challenges, so here goes with the first one which was a sketch challenge. As the mini Autumn/Winter Mini catalogue finishes at the end of the month I thought I'd better use for the first time the Level 2 Hostess Set, Asian Artistry, which I have just loved but have not had time to create with.

Stamp Set: Asian Artistry
Card: Barely Banana, Sage Shadow, Cameo Coral, Whisper White
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Pale Plum, Certainly Celery, Sage Shadow
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch

Free Pass to UStamp with Dawn and Friends

I just couldn't wait any longer to announce that Dawn Rapsas has again asked me to be a Guest Designer on the next UStamp with Dawn & Friends!

The next round "Early Fall Edition 2010" is going to be like no other UStamp with Dawn and Friends!! event we have ever done. The theme is A Fall Festival of Cards!! Yep, cards, cards and more cards!! Lots of cards!! All kinds of cards!! Fancy cards, simple cards, pop-up cards, cards that move, technique cards, cards, cards and more cards!! How many you ask? How about a whopping 160 cards. That's alot of cards, right? Each Guest Designer will be creating 4 cards for us and the Dream Team and Creative Crew Girls will each be creating 8 cards for us.

The really fun twist is that a Designer will pick a stamp set and colors and will create 4 cards using that same stamp set and same colors. Although a few Designers may choose the same stamp set, the color schemes and layouts will be completely different. Just think how cool it will be to have 160 layouts, 40 different color combo's and at least 4 new card ideas for each stamp set the Design Team uses. It's going to be AWESOME! Oh and here is another really cool thing about the cards...all PDF instructions will be in 8 steps or less.

UStamp with Dawn and Friends "Early Fall Edition 2010" will open August 20th (EDT) and will run through Sept 10th. You will NOT want to miss out on this event.

Here is what you can expect when you join...
