CASEing the Catty Santa's Workshop Memories & More - #CTC196

It's time to have some time crafting on a sunny Sunday afternoon as I have been busy for the last few weeks preparing for a High Tea last Saturday afternoon which raised over $1,000 for Compassion Australia and my sponsored child in Northern Thailand.

This week at CASEing the Catty, the Crew are featuring the Santa's Workshop Suite (pages 18 to 27) in the Holiday Catalogue, oh I love this catalogue as Christmas is my favourite time of the year.

You maybe starting here so welcome or you could have come from Judy May.

I decided to purchase the Santa's Workshop Memories & More Card Pack and the matching Poppy Parade Cards and Envelopes to make 20 quick and easy cards ready for Christmas.

I am going to be spending 3 weeks in the United States of America from the end of October so I need to get some of the Christmas cards out of the way prior to leaving as when I return from the Stampin' Up! Onstage Live in Orlando, Florida it will be time for Christmas gatherings and parties.

This afternoon within 3 hours I had made 20 Christmas  cards that I think are very cute and have quite a few layers to them with lots of dimensionals and I also used the Enamel Shapes and I was inspired by the examples to the left which I did happen to CASE a few of the designs to start off with.

Cardstock: Santa's Workshop Memories & More Cards and Envelopes, Garden Green
Accessories:  Santa's Workshop Memories & More Card Pack, Santa's Workshop Enamel Shapes, Call Me Clover 1/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Garden Green Baker's Twine (retired), 1/4" Whisper White Organza Ribbon (retired)

Now it's time to hop on over to Angela Meiritz-Reid and see what she has created this week.

CASEing the Catty Beautiful Day - #CTC190

Another week has passed and we have started another new month, I can not believe how quickly this year is disappearing.  This week at CASEing the Catty we are featuring the Artistic Impressions Section of the Annual Catalogue (pages 127 to 141).

You maybe starting here so welcome or you could have come from Mel Pagano.

I sat down with the catalogue with a cappuccino this morning and chose the card I was going to make as I had decided that I was going to use the Beautiful Day stamp set as it had not seen ink yet.

I have combined the beautiful bloom with the new Watercolour Pencils in Flirty Flamingo and Cajun Craze with Crushed Curry for the stamens and then leaves in Granny Apple Green and Garden Green and then blended the colours together with some water in my aqua painter.

I have also used the August limited time only (available only until stock lasts) Stitched Season framelits for the layers of leaves in Soft Sea Foam and Gold Foil which I think make the bloom standout even more, unfortunately it's a dull day here in Woodside and I had trouble getting a good photograph without shadows.

Finally, I gold embossed the Happy Birthday sentiment on the bottom, which was easy as I inked up in Versamark and put a piece of scrap paper over the small words under it so they would not stamp on the card.

Stamp Set:  Beautiful Day
Ink:  Memento, VersaMark
Cardstock:  Soft Sea Foam, Whisper White, Gold Foil Sheet
Accessories:  Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Stitched Seasons Framelits, Watercolour Pencils Assortment 2, Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder, Heat Tool

Colour INKspiration Springtime Impressions Thinlits - #CI38

I have not had a lot of free time to create for the Colour INKspiration Crew for a long time but I could not miss this one as I just love this colour combination of Powder Pink, Grey Granite, Berry Burst, Whisper White and Basic Black.

You maybe starting here so welcome to the blog hop or you could have come from Mel Pagano.

I have made a sympathy card for a friend who sadly loss her husband way too early from dementia, and I thought straight away of a butterfly as his memories will be with her forever.

I have used the gorgeous Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon to mount the layered butterfly in the pinks and grey with a sprinkle of Black Metallic Thread to make it stand out even more.

It will not take away her tear and hurt but it will given her a smile that he will be around her always.

Stamp Set:  Thoughts and Prayers
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Basic Black, Powder Pink, Berry Burst, Grey Granite
Ink:  Berry Burst, Grey Granite
Accessories:  Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Springtime Impressions Thinlits, Black Metallic Thread, Whisper White 5/8" Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon

Showing the depths of textures and colours

Now it's time to hop over to my good friend, Rachel Palmieri from Victoria.

Don't forget to check out the Facebook Group and like the page as this is where you and all our followers share their paper craft projects using the colour combination.  I hope to see you there!

There is a new Colour Challenge every second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 7 pm (AEDT), and a new colour swatch will be uploaded to the Colour INKspiration Facebook Group and the Colour INKspiration Crew will get the ball rolling by providing inspiration for each challenge with a blog hop.

CASEing the Catty Mistletoe Season - #CTC188

I am preparing for my Christmas in July class on Saturday so I thought it was timely that the CASEing the Catty Crew were featuring the Holidays section of the Annual Catologue (page 92 to 103).

You maybe starting here so welcome or you could have come from Peta Stephen.

I was inspired by the card to the left which uses the Season Wreath Dynamic Embossing Folder, I love the depth that these folders give.  I have used VersaMark to ink up the embossing folder and then put it through the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine and then I sprinkled some Stampin' Emboss Powder on the wreath, you will need to remove some extra powder but with a little paint brush and some patiences you get an amazing effect.  I have used both sides of the Embossing Folder as I could not decide which one I preferred.  I then used some of the matching DSP and then add lots of the beautiful and sparkling Red Rhinestones.

Stamp Set:  Mistletoe Season
Ink:  Real Red, VersaMark
Cardstock:  Thick Whisper White, Whisper White, Copper Foil Sheet, Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Paper, Real Red
Accessories:  Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Season Wreath Dynamic Embossing Folder, Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Heat Tool, Gold, Copper and White Stampin' Emboss Powder

Gallery Grunge

Gloriously Grunge
The Gallery Grunge stamp set if all of unique texture.  The designer of this set of background stamps found inspiration at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Boston when she notice a herringbone pattern on the walls.

These versatile patterns can be used in two completely different ways.  Beyond just background stamping, they can be used to create layers of texture in any piece.  In the thank you card sample, Stampin' Up! used all three of the stamps in different colours to create an elegant yet edgy aesthetic.  In the butterfly sample, the polka dot stamp was used on both the butterfly and the background to create a delicate symmetry.
