CASEing the Catty #CTC416 Retiring Favourite Mini Catalogue Project Butterfly Brilliance & Brilliant Wings Dies

What is my favourite Mini Catalogue project?  This is what we doing at CASEing the Catty this week.

Welcome to the blog hop, or you may have come from my lovely friend, Tina Gillespie.

I have chosen to case the card that is on page 82 of the Mini Catalogue.  I have used one of the retiring Butterfly Brilliance and matching Brilliant Wings Dies instead of the Queen Bee Bundle as I thought the Butterfly looks very similar to the centre bee that is featured on the card below.

I have used the card mostly as a sketch challenge and chosen a Mint Macaron monographic effect.  My background is tone on tone with the large butterfly stamp set, then used a splash of Coastal Cabana blending brush on a strip of vellum and then put a piece of the Metallic Mesh Ribbon.

On a piece of Basic White I stamped the largest butterfly and then cut it out with the die and they put a Soft Succulent largest butterfly die on top.  Finally I finished it with a couple of small butterflies and a couple of gems.

Stamp Set:  Butterfly Brilliance
Cardstock:  Mint Macaron, Basic White, Vellum
Ink:  Mint Macaron, Coast Cabana
Accessories:  Cut 'n Emboss Machine, Brilliant Wings Dies, Metallic 1 1/2" Mesh Ribbon, Elegant Faceted Gems

CASEing the Catty - #CTC415 Retiring Designer Series Paper Dry Brushed Metallic

This week at CASEing the Catty we are featuring the retiring Designer Series Papers from either the Annual or Mini Catalogues.

Welcome to the hop or you may have come from Monique Fielder.

I have chosen the Dry Brushed Metallic Specialty Designer Series Paper to highlight this week, unfortunately it had not seen any love up until now, but I was surprised how much I enjoyed the Gold and Soft Succulent blend.

It's only available for less than 2 weeks now and has 2 sheets of each of the the Soft Succulent or Cajun Craze with the Rose Gold accents for $14.00.

The card I am caseing is also from the Mini Catalogue and is from page 54, I am using the retiring Daffodil Daydream stamp set and matching Daffodil dies.

I layered the specialty DSP on Soft Succulent cardstock and then added a stitched rectangle in Basic White.  I stamped the daffodil image in Evening Evergreen and then used Soft Saffron, Mango Melody and Soft Succulent Blends to colour in.  The Forever Fern stamp set and Forever Flourishing Dies in Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen and with a little Pearlescent Specialty Paper in another leaf design.

Finally adding some Linen Thread wrapped around the rectangle and added the sentiment from Painted Labels Dies with White Embossing Powder.

Stamp Set:  Daffodil Daydream, Forever Fern
Cardstock:  Soft Succulent, Basic White, Pearlescent Specialty Paper, Dry Brushed Metallic Specialty Designer Series Paper
Ink:  Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen, VersaMark, Soft Saffron, Mango Melody
Accessories:  Cut 'n Emboss Machine, Forever Flourishing Dies, Painted Labels Dies, Stitched Rectangles, Linen Thread, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool

Close up of the daffodil and sentiment.

Inside the card, a single daffodil coloured with the same blends as used on the front of the card.

CASEing the Catty - #CTC414 Retiring Bundle Cottage Rose Bundle

This week at CASEing the Catty the Crew are featuring retiring bundles from either the Annual or Mini Catalogues.

Welcome to the hop or you may have come from Julia Quinn.

I am sad to see one of my favourite bundles, the Cottage Rose which includes the Cottage Rose stamp set and the Cottage Flowers dies being retired from the Annual Catalogue.

The bundle is featured on page 162 which you can see below.

With the announced of the Colour Refresh earlier in the week I am highlighting some of the pastel colours that I will miss, but I am sure they will be replaced very quickly once I have received the new core and in colors.

I have used the Hand-Drawn Dots background stamp set in a tone on tone Blushing Bride and then layered this with a banner made from Soft Succulent Brushstroke Specialty Paper.

The sentiment is stamped onto a strip of Mango Melody, again using the tone on tone ink.

The small rose is stamped three times in Black Memento and the leaves twice and then using my sponge daubers colour them in Mint Macaron, Mango Melody, Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz.  The flowers and leaves were then place around the sentiment strip making them pop under and in front to make it with lots of dimension.

Stamp Set:  Cottage Rose
Cardstock:  Blushing Bride, Basic White, Soft Succulent Brushstroke Specialty Paper
Ink:  Brushing Bride, Black Memento, Mint Macaron, Mango Melody, Pear Pizzazz
Accessories:  Cut 'n Emboss Machine, Cottage Flowers Dies
