CASEing the Catty - #CTC385 Case a Glitter Project Lights Aglow Designer Series Paper

It's all about glitter this week at CASEing the Catty #CTC385, Case a Glitter Project from the Mini Catalogue.

Welcome to the blog hop or you may have come from Michelle Strazds.

I have chosen to case the box on page 30 of the July to December Mini Catalogue.

I have simplified the decorated box to a small greeting or gift card.

I used some off cuts of Thick Basic White cardstock measuring 8 1/4" x 3 1/2", I folded this in half and added a strip of the Soft Succulent Lights Aglow Speciality Designer Series Paper.  Before adhering this down I added some Gold Cord on top and either the circle or square cut outs from the sheet of Cherry Cobbler DSP.

I finally added a sentiment from the Hope & Peace stamp set and a beautiful Gold and Vanilla Ribbon bow and wow it did not take long to repeat the process to create a set of four.

Stamp Set:  Hope & Peace
Cardstock:  Thick Basic White, Basic White, Lights Aglow Specialty Designer Series Paper
Ink:  Soft Succulent
Accessories:  Gold & Vanilla 3/8" Satin-Edged Ribbon, Gold Cord, 2 1/4" Circle Punch (retired)

Bron's Birthday Blog Hop #5 - Fancy Folds Merriest Moments

It's Bron's Birthday Blog Hop (and Insta Hop) #5 but it's my first!  We're a group of stamping friends that are celebrating Bron's 60th Birthday in 2022 with six blog hops, over six months, with six fun themes!

I could not miss out on the Fancy Folds, Bronwyn is a star at making fancy fold cards and she kindly provided me a tutorial for a Gate Fold Double Box Card.

As I created this last week, I had my supplies out from my Christmas in July card class so I just had to make an oh so special Christmas card (it will be going to be a lovely lady as it took me quite some time to complete).

I have chosen traditional colours of shades of green with Cherry Cobbler.  It's had to see but I started with Old Olive cardstock and layered it with a couple of different pieces of Boughs of Holly Designer Series Paper.  The layers and folds include two double boxes where I added some returning favourite Wonderful Snowflakes in iridescent foil.

Lots of stamping of the poinsettias in Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive holly leaves from the Merriest Moments stamp set, and lots of fussy cutting which I don't mind at all either.  It was then putting these together with more Wonderful Snowflakes and gems.   Finally, I then added a couple of Christmas trees from Trees for Sale to give added depth to the trees on the DSP.

Stamp Set:  Merriest Moments, Trees for Sale
Cardstock:  Old Olive, Basic White, Boughs of Holly Designer Series Paper
Ink:  Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler
Accessories:  Cut 'n Emboss Machine, Tree Lot Dies, Wonderful Snowflakes, Adhesive Backed Sequins & Gems, Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Gems

It does close up and fits in a standard envelope.

CASEing the Catty - #CTC377 Case Sale-A-Bration Tree Lot Dies

This week at CASEing the Catty we are CASEing the Sale-A-Bration brochure and wow there are some amazing FREE products that can inspire you.

Welcome to the blog hop or you may have come from the talented Rachel Palmieri.

I am in the process of preparing for my Christmas in July card class so I want to used the Tree Lot Dies which is featured on page 12 with the Trees for Sale matching stamp set which you can purchase in the July to December Mini Catalogue for $39.00.

The card to the left uses non traditional Christmas colours of Mossy Meadow, Daffodil Delight, Polished Pink, Blushing Bride with Starry Sky card base.  These are colours I would never have picked for a Christmas card colour combination but it really does work.

First I used Whisper White Craft ink to stamp the circles on the Starry Sky card base.

Then I stamped the two largest trees from the set in the four colours using the two step stamping technique - stamping off the ink with the background stamp and then with full ink with the highlighted branches.

Die cut all the trees and the caravan in Very Vanilla with a piece of Basic White for the windows.

It's then just time to arrange the trees separating the colours and sizes to fit your card (mine are a little different to the catalogue) and mounting some on diminsionals for added effect, don't forget to die cut at couple of tree trunks for the front two trees.  Finally stamp the sentiment in one of the coordinating colours I chose the Polished Pink and add some of the gorgeous Iridescent White Adhesive Backed Stars.

Stamp Set:  Trees for Sale
Cardstock:  Starry Sky, Basic White, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake
Ink:  Mossy Meadow, Daffodil Delight, Polished Pink, Blushing Bride
Accessories:  Cut n Emboss Machine, Tree Lot Dies, Adhesive Backed Stars

Love those Iridescent White Stars

After making the above card, I could not resist making one with shades of green and there are a lot of them - Parakeet Party, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, Shaded Spruce and Evening Evergreen!

Welcome to the blog hop, or you may have come from Peta Stephen

I have chosen to CASE the card on page 2 of the Sale-A-Bration brochure on the left, as it a very small image it probably has been looked over, but I just had to use the Paper Lattice that I have had in my collection for sometime without opening the packet.

I have decided to use the Sweet Stockings Designer Series Paper for my card this week.   Firstly I used the checkered Pool Party DSP sheet as my background and then mounted the Kraft Paper Lattice sheet on top with dimensionals.  I layered a small rectangle piece Basic White which I stamped the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler and put a strip of matching Cherry Cobbler and Gold Ribbon down the right hand side.

Do you love the dogs and cats in the DSP?  I fussy cut a couple out and layered them on top and finally added a couple of Gold Brushed Metallic Dots.

After finishing the card utilising the Sweet Stockings DSP, I decided to make an additional card using the FREE Sale-A-Bration Penguin Playmates DSP and flipped the orientation of the card around to a landscape card.

Which one is your favourite?

Stamp Set:  Great Tidings, Penguin Place
Cardstock:  Thick Basic White, Basic White, Sweet Stockings Designer Series Paper, Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper
Ink:  Cherry Cobbler, Just Jade
Accessories:  Kraft Paper Lattice, Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots, Cherry Cobbler & Gold 1/2" Ribbon, Just Jade 3/8" Gingham Ribbon

You may have started here, or you could have come from Peta Stephen.

CASEing the Catty - #CTC334 Mini Catalogue page 8-15 Snowflake Wishes & So Many Snowflakes Dies

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers, grandfathers, step fathers, and those that are watching up from their heavenly home, which mine will be doing today.

I did take some beautiful bright and cheerful daffodils to the cemetery today which the bulbs were from the family home at Oakbank, it always gives me joy when they are flowering and spring is here.

This week at CASEing the Catty were are featuring pages 8 to 15 of the Holiday Mini Catalogue and the Gingerbread and Peppermint Suite.

Welcome to the blog hop if you are starting from here or you may have come from Judy May.

I was inspired my the non traditional colours of the Christmas card on page 13, utilising Petal Pink, Pear Pizzazz and Misty Moonlight, I have also used a different bundle from the Annual Catalogue, Snowflake Wishes and coordinating So Many Snowflakes Dies.

With this set there was not a background textured die, so I used one of the snowflake dies to create the background with Basic White cardstock and then adhered it another piece of Basic White cardstock and then cut it in 1 1/4" strips which I think turned out lovely.

For the snowflakes, I stamped in Petal Pink, Pear Pizzaz and Misty Moonlight and had to fussy cut two out of the three as there is not a matching die and then layered them with Basic White snowflakes.

I used a rectangle die from the Ornate Layers to create the Gray Granite block and had to reduced the size by cutting it in half as it was a little wide but knowing the sentiment was on top it worked out a treat.

Finally I added the bow and some gems and I was really pleased with how it turned out, but it will not be a Christmas card that I will be mass producing as it was quite time consuming making it.

Stamp Set:  Snowflake Wishes
Ink:  Petal Pink, Pear Pizzaz, Misty Moonlight
Cardstock:  Petal Pink, Gray Granite, Basic White
Accessories:  Cut 'n Emboss Machine, So Many Snowflakes Dies, Ornate Layers Dies, Misty Moonlight/Silver Baker's Twine, Soft Succulent Jewels

CASEing the Catty - #CTC328 Case Sketch Sale-A-Bration Penguin Playmates

Wow, what a week it has been in my life!!!

South Australia went into 7 days lockdown, as an essential worker in a general practice it was even busier than normal with COVID Testing Clinics in the car park and COVID Vaccine Clinics within the practice plus the general consultation and of course telehealth so patients did not have to leave home.

It was a pleasure to craft to relax and put some balance back in my life, so welcome to the blog hop or you may have come from Monique Fielder.

This week we are using the card sketch featured to the right which is from the Annual Catalogue on page 33.

I have decided to give you a little sneak peak of the oh cute Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper which you will be able to get for free during the Sale-A-Bration promotion that starts in August.

I had an idea to use the Peaceful Place Speciality Designer Series Paper from the upcoming Mini Catalogue as my background as the snowflakes falling onto the trees would make the feature of the card just pop.  I then fussy cut the penguin on the slay pulled by the polar bear and then added in the snowman.  Inside of a sentiment I decided to add some of the Metallic Mesh Ribbon to make it look like they are sliding along some snow.

That's another Christmas Card made in July, thanks for stopping by and I would love to see what you can create with this sketch challenge.

Cardstock:  Fresh Fressia, Basic White, Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper, Peaceful Place Speciality Designer Series Paper
Accessories:  Metallic 1 1/2" Mesh Ribbon

Now it's time to hop on over to Tina Gillespie, who also lives in South Australia so would have had a challenging week at home with her children being home schooled during this time.
