CASEing the Catty - #CTC366 Farewell Annual Catty Free as a Bird

It's time to say farewell to the Annual Catalogue this week at CASEing the Catty #CTC366.

Welcome to the blog hop or you may have come from Lauren Meiklejohn

I have chosen one of my favourite stamp sets, Free as a Bird to feature this week which is highlighted on page 82 of the Annual Catalogue.

I decided to keep the colours the same but changed the card to a landscape layout with the Stitched Rectangle dies as my centrepiece.

I had only this week learnt from a fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator that you can use a Colour Lifter to blend your watercolor pencils to blend out the strokes instead of using water in a Water Painter.

It makes it so much easier with the small details of the stamp set as they don't run so much and therefore you have a lot more control.

Finally, I finished the card with a sentiment cut out with a half of one of the dies from the Hippo & Friends dies and some twine.

Stamp Set:  Free as a Bird
Cardstock:  Daffodil Delight, Balmy Blue, Basic White
Ink:  Black Memento
Accessories:  Cut 'n Emboss Machine, Hippo & Friends Dies, Stitched Rectangles Dies, Watercolor Pencils from both Assortments, Thick Baker's Twine (retired)

Thanks for joining me this week, now it's time to see what Julia Quinn has created.

CASEing the Catty - #CTC 352 Mini Catalogue Blessing of Home Bundle

Welcome to this week at CASEing the Catty.  We are featuring the January to June Mini Catalogue so there is lots to choose from, so I am hopeful that we have many entries.

You may have come from Judy May or you maybe starting here.

I am featuring the Blessing of Home Bundle this week and as I am celebrating a special 'O' birthday next weekend I decided I would make a scrapbooking page which coordinates with the invitations I made, using the colour combination of Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather and Basic White.

On page 60 of the Mini Catalogue, there is a beautiful scrapbooking page which used the Heart & Home Designer Series Paper and I used this for my invitation so it was just swapping out some colours and wow it turned out really well.

Scrapbooking doesn't come naturally for me so it's a great start to the Memories and More album that I am planning to put together with some quotes from my family and friends and lots of happy photo's.

To colour in the largest flower I used my wink of stella to picked up some Fresh Freesia ink from the inside of the ink pad lid and then just coloured in with dark in the centre to light to the edge of the petals, very easy and you also get a sparkling effect.

Stamp Set:  Blessings of Home
Cardstock:  Crumb Cake, Highland Heather, Fresh Freesia, Basic White
Ink:  Fresh Freesia
Accessories:  Cut n Emboss Machine, Flowers of Home Dies, Highland Heather 1/2" Grosgrain Ribbon, Clear Glitter Wink of Stella, Variety Pack 6" x 8" Photo Pocket Pages, Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Back Dots (retired), Wonderful Snowflakes (retired)

CASEing the Catty - #CTC327 Snowflake Wishes and So Many Snowflakes Dies

Wow, today we are celebrating our 7th Anniversary of blog hops at CASEing the Catty.

I can not believe it's been this long, time just flies by when you are having fun creating.  Bronwyn Eastley invited me onto the Crew when it was launched but I declined as it was a weekly commitment in the beginning, but at the Stampin' Up! Gold Coast Convention she convinced me to join as I could participate when I can.  I love CASEing the Catalogues they give you so many options and inspiration.  I need to have a look back at my first post and see when my first post was.

You may be starting here so welcome to the hop or you may have come from Peta Stephen

This week we are featuring the Holiday Section of the Annual Catalogue - pages 88 to 95 which coincided with my Christmas in July card class which I hosted yesterday and we made this shaker card featured on page 90.

I decided to make mine in shades of blue - Balmy Blue, Pacific Point and tiny bit of Pool Party.

I love the snowflakes in this set as they layer well together to give depth and dimension in the corners of the card on top of a little snowflake stamping.

I then added some snowflakes and sequins to the shaker (unfortunately the current sequins did not match my colour theme so I had to use some from my discontinued stash) and then finally added the Gray Granite ribbon and fussy cut sentiment in the centre and added the cute gems.

Stamp Set:  Snowflake Wishes
Cardstock:  Balmy Blue, Pacific Point, Pool Party, Basic White
Ink:  Balmy Blue, Pacific Point
Accessories:  Cut n' Emboss Machine, So Many Snowflakes Dies, Window Sheets, Blue Adhesive Backed Gems, Gray Granite 1/4" Shimmer Ribbon, Fancy Frost Sequins (retired), Sprinkles Embellishments (retired), Snowflake Sequins (retired)

Thanks for stopping by this week, now it's time to hop on over to Lauren Meiklejohn.

CASEing the Catty - #CTC295 Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper

It's Sunday here in Adelaide and we are out of complete COVID lockdown which luckily only lasted 3 days, we still have restrictions but slowly we can go about our daily lives again.

CASEing the Catty this week are getting inspiration from the inside cover of the Annual Catalogue.

You may have started the hop here, welcome or you may have come from Lauren Meiklejohn.

As you can see to the left I have CASEd the "missing you" card and used the Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper to create a simple Christmas card as I am slowly adding to my collection.

I think I must be getting close to 80 Christmas cards now, only about another 20 hopefully by the end of the month as I hope to start sending them in early December as the postal service is really slow with COVID and all the online shopping.

I used a piece of Whisper White cardstock to stamp my sentiment as I wanted it to stand out more and layered it with some Silver foil and then fussy cut out a small poinsettia from a different piece of the Designer Series Paper to finish it off

Stamp Set:  Cherish the Season
Cardstock:  Bumblebee, Whisper White, Silver Foil, Poinsette Place Designer Series Paper
Ink:  Real Red

Thanks for stopping by, now it's time to hop on over to Sandra Collett.

CASEing the Catty - #CTC285 - CASE Sketch, Rooted in Nature

This week we are CASEing the Catty we are casing a layout from page 29 from the Mini Catalogue which is featured below.

If you have started the hop here welcome, or you may have come from my friend and South Australian stamper, Tina Gillespie.

I have chosen the Rooted in Nature stamp set as it has a large individual tree stamp which I thought I would stamp 4 times to create the four strips, 2 in Shaded Spruce and 2 in Mint Macaron at the top of the card, as it did not fill the card to the bottom, I repeated this step with the trunk as a feature.

It was a little sparse so I stamped off in Just Jade and added a little individual treat to fill in the background.  Finally I chose a long thin sentiment from the For Unto Us stamp set to stamp onto a thin piece of Whisper White cardstock in Shaded Spruce to cover the joins of the trees and then for a final touch added some Clear Wink of Stella Glitter to the four feature trees (unfortunately my photos can not pick up the sparkle).

Stamp Set:   Rooted in Nature, For Unto Us
Cardstock:  Mint Macaron, Whisper White
Ink:  Shaded Spruce, Just Jade, Mint Macaron
Accessories:  Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush

I was hoping you could see the Clear Wink of Stella, but I don't think it came out even in the close up.

It's now time to hop on over to Sandra Collett.
